New York City’s Fire Department, Giving Geek a Go

The Wall Street Journal  posted an article on WSJ Blog that shows how rugged Toughbook notebooks enables the FDNY to respond quicker and with more information than they’ve ever had, including a seamless link to other local and federal agencies during major incidents and disasters (including 9/11).

The FDNY is arming chiefs with a fleet of Panasonic Toughbook laptops, which they say are durable enough to sit in standing water and take other harsh treatment. They are quick to praise the brightness of the screen. (Source : WSJ Blog)
